TRAIL: Black Lake Canyon Trail  WHERE: South West Nipomo HIGHLIGHTS: The beautiful trail borders a natural riparian area, featuring and interesting mix of oak and eucalyptus trees. HOW TO GET THERE: From San Luis Obispo take Highway 101 to Hwy 1 south to Callendar Road, south of the Halcyon-El Campo junction in Palo Mesa.  Travel east on Callendar Road and park just past Sheridan Road. TRAIL CHARACTER and DISTANCE:  The sandy, shaded trail is a 4 mile loop with some moderate climbs.  Watch for poison oak.
