 | Highlights: The new trail allows access to
the Caliente Resource Area; equestrians and hikers may enter the wilderness
area after 2.5 miles of multi -use trail and climb to the Caliente Ridge for
a beautiful view of the Cuyama Valley and access to Soda Lake. |
 | How to Get There: From San Luis Obispo,
drive south on Highway 101 to the Hwy166 east; travel east 39 miles; on
north side of road look for green horse gate marked with small "public
access" sign. |
 | Where To Park: On the wide shoulder; horse trailers
may be turned in a turnout several hundred feed east of the trailhead. |
 | Please Note: This trail is on private land
leading into a wilderness area; blazing new trails will cause trail closure
in this fragile area. |
