 | HIGHLIGHTS: Rambling trails in the foothills of the Santa Lucia
Mountains. Creeks run all year and many birds may be seen. A well appointed small
campground is usable for a small fee. |
 | WHO SHOULD GO: Hikers, walkers, campers and Equestrians.

 | HOW TO GET THERE: From San Luis Obispo take Hwy 1 North 7 miles.
Turn right into El Chorro County Regional Park, opposite Cuesta College. |
 | WHERE TO PARK: Follow signs to the Day Use Area. Parking lots
near gate are large enough for horse trailers. Restrooms and water are available. |
 | TRAIL CHARACTER and DISTANCE: Two loop trails of approximately
2.5 miles are accessible. The southern trail winds up a hill overlooking Camp San Luis
Obispo and curves down through oak woodlands. It is a moderate climb on good footing. The
northern loop rambles through the old dairy farm. Touring the parks boundary adds
additional miles. |
 | CAUTION: Camp San Luis Obispo borders the park and is posted NO
TRESPASSING because of an impact area during WWII. Unexploded ammunition in this area
could be hazardous. Be sure to stay on roadway and trails. |
