WHAT: Guadalupe Beach |

HIGHLIGHTS: Shore birds, including the
California Least Tern and Snowy Plover are regular inhabitants of the
area and a joy to watch. |

WHO SHOULD GO: Walkers, Bird Watchers and
Nature Buffs |

HOW TO GET THERE: From Hwy 101 exit west on
Main Street (Hwy 166), drive nine miles to the Hwy 1 and West Main
Street Junction and continue west five miles to pass through the
entrance gate. |

WHERE TO PARK: Proceed to the preserve
parking lot on the beach. |
 |
TRAIL CHARACTER and DISTANCE: Walking on the
beach is easier when the tide is low but very exhilarating when the
tide is high. Walk four miles south to Muscle Rock or approximately 10
miles north to the Oso Flaco Area. |

CAUTION: Horses and dogs are always prohibited on
this trail.
Area is open from 6am to 8pm during the summer and 6am to 6pm after
the time change. Snowy Plover nesting areas are closed from March
through July, this area is signed. |
